After an experimental and intuitive market study, Sir Rigon and his wife glimpsed the possibility of expansion on the Spanish market, and so they created “MAPE” Maquinaria para Embalaje, another sole proprietor firm, with head office in Seville, in the south of Spain.
Although Spanish industrial development was growing rather slowly compared to the situation in Italy, Sir Rigon found that his customers needed packaging machines that would be suitable for all packaging requirements.
This was the start of a very close relationship between customer and supplier, way ahead of today’s market trends.
Thanks to opening up towards foreign markets, both MAPE and RGD very soon became well established companies, from both the commercial viewpoint and as regards production.
Over time, they increased and innovated the types of packaging machines, also thanks to the introduction of new staff, the expansion of the work environment, and the purchase of new buildings.
The two firms thus became LIMITED COMPANIES: RGD Maquinaria Para Embalaje S.L. and RGD PACKAGING SRL managed by Sir Rigon’s children, who had decided to follow in their father’s footsteps; Simone Rigon for the Spanish company and Martina Rigon in Italy.
Both companies then joined together to create a single group, the RGDMAPE GROUP, which now also includes other associate companies; this has allowed for supplying customers with complete packages for complete Flow-Pack, Vertical and Heat-Shrink packaging solutions.
